Hey Friends,
Brandon checking in from the farmstead. Julia says hi too! We can't believe it's been a year and a half since we ditched city life for a slice of nature in the countryside. At some point it becomes normal to have chickens follow you to your car, or glance out the window to see your father-in-law posing for chicken selfies.
In May 2022, we made the leap into sustainable farming, trading a comfortable sub-urban lifestyle for the challenges involved in starting a farm. We also both work full-time jobs, so to say it has been a whirlwind since we put our house up for sale, is an understatement. Luckily we have been blessed with supportive family and friends, so things are really starting to come together. We are raising happy , healthy livestock in a manner that nature intended. It has been a joy to witness abundant new life on the farm. Speaking of new life, we are expecting an addition to the Pollard family in February. I expect evening family time with our furry friends to get even more ridiculously snuggly.
Anyways, I hope this update finds you well; stay tuned for a peek into the highs and lows of our journey as we work towards our vision here at Flock, Stock & Barrel farm. We’ll share our insights, laughs, and hopefully do our part to help rebuild humanity’s connection to our food production systems, emphasizing the importance of local, sustainable farming.
Wishing you and yours all the best this holiday season!
Brandon and Julia
