Hey Friends,

Brandon here, writing to you from our little corner of the countryside.  We had our first real snowstorm of the winter, so I am thawing out next to the fire after snow-blowing the driveway.  Alas, the unseasonably mild winter couldn’t last forever.

Despite the green Christmas, this holiday season was truly special for us at Flock, Stock & Barrel Farm. The highlight? Getting to savour and share delicious food we've produced with family and friends.   Christmas dinner featured one of our delicious pastured turkeys and our succulent hickory smoked ham, both cooked to perfection by my mom. It was amazing to share these moments with our family, knowing we received this nourishment from our farm.  You can’t buy that feeling in a grocery store.

A year and half of hard work is finally starting to pay off.  I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude as I reflect on 2023 and anticipate what is in store for 2024.  Grateful for the ability to raise healthy, delicious food for our family and our community.  Our farm isn't just about production; we are fostering connection with others and with food we consume.  Every bite is a celebration of that connection.

As we step into the new year, we carry this gratitude with us. Here's to more delicious, sustainable adventures in 2024!

Cheers,

Brandon and Julia
